2007-12-01 - Warsaw Bus Party - MOVIE!

On July the 21st Hostel Helvetia has celebrated it's 2nd birthday! We have taken our guest to the city tour by one of the typical city buses, additionaly equiped with DJ and few dozens cans of beer from the local brewery.

2007-02-16 - We are against the construction of motorway through Rospuda Valley!

The expressway which is planned to connect Helsinki with Warsaw is planned to cross Rospuda Valley - one of the treasures of polish nature. The endangered area is proposed for Natura 2000 sites and protected under Polish law as well as international conventions. We cannot agree to this decision!

Such a warm winter hasn't been here for 227 years! There is no snow and the Varsavians enjoy drinking beer in outdoor cafes. Anyway, we don't give up and still believe in the white Christmas. As you can see on the left - Warsaw is already decorated and luminated (on the picture: Nowy Świat Street, 2 minute walk from our hostel)

Estimados Salseros! This year, as it was in 2005, Helvetia is going to be the Hostel of Salsa. In our common room you can practice new patterns, listen to Cuban music and watch films on salsa. Our staff will help you to get to all the Salsa Festivals spots. Hasta la vista!

2006-10-08 - CHANGES IN BUS SCHEDULE. TO GET US LEAVE BUS No 175 at NOWY ŚWIAT 04 stop!!!

Since Krakowskie Przedmieście St will be under constructions for 15 months (untill January 2007), to get to our hostel from the airport or the railway station, you will have to take bus no 175 and leave at the stop called "Nowy Świat 04". Then go back Świętokrzyska St. and when the street turns right (and down) you have to turn left. After approximately 50m turn right and you will be in Bartoszewicza St. Turn left again and you will see our logo above the entrance to the hostel.

We have changed colours of our web page. To be honest we have changed more things - staircase was painted in yellow and we've hanged new photos in some rooms. Constantly improving...

2006-06-13 - Multifest in Warsaw - set of cultural events from June to September.

From June 3 until Sept. 30 Warsaw will present many large and small events as a part of a unique holiday atmosphere creating a sun-filled, green city. The MultiFest has something for everybody, from intimate classical music concerts and lively jazz festivals to film screenings and theater performances.
